At American Turf & Tree Care, we consider our employees part of the family! We’re proud to be a company that celebrates personal wins, takes care of our own, and rallies together when times are tough.
Now is one of the times to rally our support, as one of our valued team members, Steve, is facing some hefty expenses for lifesaving medical procedures
Growing up in Nunn, Colorado and helping his parents on their farm developed his passion for working with his hands. After graduating from high school, he served in the Army, based in Ft. Bragg, NC as part of the 82nd Airborne. He joined the American Turf & Tree Care team after working as a farmer and electrician.
Steve has a giving spirit – volunteering his time and electrical skills with pro bono work for those less fortunate. He has also been involved in volunteer work and fundraising for organizations like The Greeley Stampede and Relay for Life. When he’s not working or donating his time, he enjoys gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time with his girlfriend, Kim, or with his five beautiful children.
After experiencing chest pains and severe lightheadedness last year, he underwent testing at the VA hospital last fall. During a scheduled surgery to put a stent in his heart in June, it was discovered that his heart was almost fully blocked and they would be unable to complete the surgery.
This week, he is undergoing open heart surgery to conduct a 5-way bypass. Surgery like this is quite expensive, and despite his years of hard work and his time in the US Army, this surgery still poses a significant financial burden for Steve and his family.
